Our Leadership
Meet the dedicated leaders of Love Cathedral Community Church, guiding our congregation with faith and love.

Pastor Lamont Jackson
Pastor Jackson is a devoted servant of God with a true servant’s heart. From an early age, he demonstrated a deep love for Christ and His church. As a young boy, he often sat in the church lobby between services practicing songs to sing, poems to recite, scriptures to share, or preparing in any way he could to contribute to worship. Even then, God was cultivating in him a passion for serving His Kingdom.
As he matured in faith, Pastor Jackson became actively involved in a church ministry that grounded him in Scripture through music and discipleship. He memorized the books of the Bible and many foundational passages that continue to strengthen his walk with God today. This ministry also ignited his passion for evangelism. Motivated by a desire to see others come to Christ, he went door-to-door throughout his neighborhood, sharing the Gospel with friends and neighbors and inviting them to church.
The more Pastor Jackson experienced Christ and the life of the church, the more he desired to serve. His love for music and passion for worship led him to learn both piano and organ. He taught music to the Inspirational Young Adult Choir and later served as director of the Adult Choir. Beyond his local congregation, he shared his gifts with numerous churches throughout the Chicago area, serving faithfully as a musician and worship leader.
In 1988, Pastor Jackson was invited to an evening service at Love Cathedral Community Church. He was immediately captivated by the congregation’s fervent prayer, passionate praise, and sincere hunger for the presence of God. Love Cathedral became the fertile ground where his faith, leadership, and ministry would flourish.
Over the years, Pastor Jackson faithfully served in nearly every area of ministry, including Youth Leader, Trustee, Choir Member, Praise Leader, Sunday School Teacher, Ministers’ Leader, Men’s Ministry Leader, Armor Bearer, Administrative Board Member, and Chief of Staff. Whether teaching a class, repairing a roof, or picking up litter in the parking lot, he approached every task with the same commitment: giving his very best to the glory of God. Under the leadership and mentorship of Bishop Claude Timmons, Pastor Jackson learned that no assignment is too small when done for the Kingdom.
Pastor Jackson was licensed to preach in 1990 and ordained as an Elder in the Lord’s Church in 1993. In 2015, he assumed pastoral oversight while continuing to support Bishop Timmons as his health declined. In April 2021, Bishop Timmons officially ordained and installed Pastor Jackson as Pastor, entrusting him with the church’s governance, vision, and spiritual leadership.
A lifelong student of God’s Word, Pastor Jackson is committed to continual growth and development. He has pursued theological and leadership training through Moody Bible Institute and other educational resources. His academic studies include Kennedy-King College, Chicago State University, and DePaul University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree with a focus on Human and Organizational Development.
Pastor Jackson has been married to his lifelong love, Cynthia, for more than 35 years. Together they have raised two adult children and built a legacy of faith, family, and service. Known for his warm spirit and genuine love for people, Pastor Jackson consistently challenges others to grow in their relationship with God and to be transformed by the power of His Word.
Although many recognize and celebrate his years of faithful leadership, Pastor Jackson has never sought the spotlight. He remains steadfast in his belief that all glory belongs to God alone. As he often reminds those around him, “Ain’t nobody God but God.” Through that simple yet powerful declaration, Pastor Jackson continually points people away from human achievement and toward Jesus Christ—the Author and Finisher of our faith.
