Origins of LCCC
Love Cathedral Community Church (LCCC), located on the South Side of Chicago, was founded by Bishop Claude Timmons, a visionary leader who answered God's call to ministry in 1985.
Reflecting on that pivotal moment, Bishop Timmons shared:
“I was driving one day when the Spirit of the Lord spoke to me and told me that He wanted me to pastor and study His Word. In obedience to that calling, I began preparing for ministry, and in 1985, Love Cathedral Community Church was established.”
Through faithful leadership and unwavering dedication to God's people, Bishop Timmons guided the church's growth and was consecrated as Bishop in 1993.
In 2021, Bishop Timmons passed the mantle of leadership to Rev. Lamont Jackson and his wife, First Lady Cynthia Jackson, entrusting them with the responsibility of shepherding the congregation and continuing the church's mission.
Today, Love Cathedral Community Church remains a vibrant and thriving ministry, committed to sharing the love of Christ, serving the community, and pursuing God's heart in all that it does. We warmly welcome all who seek fellowship, spiritual growth, and a place to belong—because at Love Cathedral Community Church, every heart is welcomed with love.
